SEND YOUR LETTER TO UNIVERSAL. Demand Spielberg to be the producer of the reboot.

DISCLAIMER: (The whole "Spielberg as producer" thing is only a suggestion. It's optional, and you are free to imagine the remake(s) being produced by someone entirely different...But the reasons for suggesting Spielberg as the producer in your letters is explained below.)

You don't have to dislike Spielberg's films in order to want the remakes. You just have to agree that we deserve a faithful adaptation of the books, which NEITHER of Spielberg's films were...And the 1st movie is the ONLY decent JP movie in existence. (Remember, just because you like a movie does NOT mean that the movie is good, and the same goes for "dislike/bad")

If you don't like the way people bash EITHER of the old JP movies, don't let that stop you from joining us. Just IGNORE the bashing and focus on agreeing that we deserve the novels adapted the way they should've been.

The common goal among every member is this: We deserve a proper adaptation of Chrichton's books: Jurassic Park and The Lost World.

Help us get the studio's attention. You must send a letter to UNIVERSAL STUDIOS/PICTURES and convince them that we want a JP remake.

For many years we've been wondering what was stopping Universal from creating a proper adaptation of the Jurassic Park books (other than the close-minded fanboys who complain and whine like babies every time somebody brings up the idea of remaking JP)...

And now we've finally discovered a way to encourage Universal Studios to produce the remakes, without being worried about the close-minded whiny fanboys disapproving:

You must contact UNIVERSAL (by email of postage) and convince them to get Spielberg to be the producer of the remakes. That might be the only way to convince the public that this project will be taken seriously.

Having Spielberg as the producer of the remakes, is probably the only way to please both the fans of the books AND the 1st Movie.

That way, whenever a dumb close-minded fanboy tries to complain/whine about JP getting remade, all we need to say is:

In your letters, you must also convince Universal to consider this idea:

The TEASER trailer for the remake should be an interview/featurette instead of an actual trailer.
(similar to the teaser for Pixar's "WALL-E")

The teaser should mostly be showing Spielberg talking about the fact that he's personally involved in the remake. (PLUS some finished shots to show that production is already in progress.)

That way, when the fans see the teaser in theaters, the first thing they learn is the fact that the 1st Movie's director is supervising the remake, and that should calm the fans.

The posters for the remakes could even say "STEVEN SPIELBERG PRESENTS" above the title...just like other movies he produced without directing at all. (Back to the Future is a great example.)

***HERE ARE THE ADDRESSES FOR UNIVERSAL*** ----- Audrey Eig "Director", Universal Studios Hollywood --- Trana Pittam "Senior Manager", International and Online Media -- Cheryl Valdez "Manager", Universal CityWalk

I'm personally not sure which address is the one you should send it just send a copy to each address. You have nothing to lose.

If there's anyone here who has read Crichton's THE LOST WORLD, and likes the book, but is also smart enough to understand that it's a heavily problematic (fundamentally flawed) book, you should write an entire plot recap/outline of the book, specifically explaining what happens in each chapter, but also mentioning the many moments of poor writing (or lack of good writing).

You can post your outline/recap/review in a blog at, or some other Journal-based website, even here on DeviantART.

The reason this is important is because:
If someone finally decides to re-adapt both Jurassic Park & The Lost World to be closer to the books, they'll need to understand that The Lost World is a very problematic book, that it's fundamentally flawed, and several elements/characters (from the book) would need to be "changed" for the sake of better storytelling (when I say "changed", I mean IMPROVED, NOT REPLACED, because Spielberg did the latter with his movie, which is why the movie is hated by fans.) It is possible to change elements/characters from a book in order to make them better, WITHOUT replacing those elements/characters.

But first the reboot's filmmakers would need to know everything that happens in the book AND WHY it's not good writing, so they can understand what would need to be done to make it better, in a way that doesn't replace the book's elements/characters.
